The Moxy and Residence Inn Slough – due to open early in 2021 – will hold online ‘auditions’ for 25 jobs on 10 and 11 December.
Roles include housekeeping management, room attendants and linen porters as well as receptionists and bar staff. Up to 400 applicants will be considered over the two days, including for five apprenticeship opportunities under the government’s Kickstart Scheme.
Hotel general manager Philip Steiner says: “Our crew members are at the heart of every guest stay, so finding the right people with the ‘Moxy Factor’ is going to be central to our success. We’re not looking for conventional hotel people to fill our customer-facing positions, which is why our interview process is anything but traditional.”
CVs must be submitted by 25 November, with shortlisted candidates invited to submit a short video.
The two Marriott International-branded hotels, operated by Cycas Hospitality, have 244 rooms in a ‘double decker’ scheme with one hotel above the other. The Moxy Slough will offer 152 short stay rooms, while the Residence Inn will have 92 long stay studio room and one-bedroomed apartments. The development on the site of Slough’s former library also includes 64 residential apartments.
