Royal Tunbridge Wells hotel staff raring to go
As hoteliers look to the staycation and leisure travel market to replace those missing guests – hopefully temporarily – from the business sector, the latest Premier Inn to open may well be perfectly placed to do just that.
It’s in London Road, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, close to the historic high street and railway station. The 110-bedroom hotel includes a Thyme restaurant and the opening in late August has already created 20 new jobs, both full and part-time. Premier Inn’s new openings manager Viv Carr described the team as ‘raring to go’ as the first guests were welcomed. The five storey hotel in a notable town is also handy for visiting some beautiful countryside, such as the High Weald. The group is expanding in well-connected markettowns and a new 80-bedroom hotel is due to open at Uckfield later this year.
The Royal Tunbridge Wells Premier Inn opened with Premier Inn’s enhanced hygiene promise, Premier Inn Clean Protect, to help guests stay with confidence. Developed with suppliers including global cleaning and hygiene product supplier Diversey, the new procedures are in line with both World Health Organisation and the European Centre for Disease Control recommendations, as well as UK government guidance.
The Clean Protect launch coincides with new flexible room rates that will help guests’ book with confidence in the event their plans may need to change. This includes a new standard rate, allowing guests to cancel or amend within 24 hours of making the reservation or amend the booking up to 1pm on the day of arrival.
