Quarantine hotel guests settle in
Heathrow area hotels began admitting travellers facing quarantine for 11 nights after arriving from 33 countries on the UK’s ‘hot spot’ COVID-19 list from Monday just gone (February 15).
The hotels include Radisson Blu, Heathrow Renaissance Hotel, the Ibis Styles London Heathrow East hotel and the Novotel Heathrow. They are among 16 across England set to take the ‘special guests’ in up to 4,600 rooms reserved by the government. Countries on the list include Portugal, Brazil and South Africa.
Those quarantined will have to do much of their own housekeeping, including changing their bed linen, and are to receive three meals a day left at their door. Hotel staff are doing all they can to make the stays as pleasant as possible in the circumstances but toiletries, puzzles and in-room entertainment like TV cannot replace the personal assistance and attention to detail housekeeping teams would normally wish to provide.
