Pumping up the holiday experience

Guests who booked an early summer stay at St Moritz Hotel & Cowshed Spa will get a cash-back bonus to help cover their petrol costs when travelling to Rock in Cornwall.

Spiralling fuel charges sparked by global uncertainty have led the hotel owners to offer a £15 to £30 discount per carload, depending on how far they’ve travelled.

The hotel is calling it a ‘pumped up petrol prices be damned’ discount. Former Visit Britain chairman Steve Ridgway is a co-founder of St Moritz Hotel & Cowshed Spa, and says: “The Great British hospitality industry has to pivot once again and find yet more exciting ways to encourage our much-valued staycationers to book their getaways in our midst.”

Steve’s brother Hugh Ridgway adds: “It’s about celebrating the simplicity of the great British break: of that feeling of packing up the car, getting on the road, and knowing you’ve got a jolly good Cornish time ahead of you.”
