Linen brand Liddell relaunched
Established in 1866 in the village of Donaghcloney, the luxury Irish Liddell brand has been adorning the hotel rooms of some of the most exclusive hotels, restaurants and spas for over 150 years.
Now, the fine linen brand has been redefined for 2020 with a brand new collection solely aimed at five-star retail and hospitality clientele. Founded on the banks of the River Lagan by William Liddell, the brand rose to prominence after supplying the RMS Titanic on its ill-fated voyage back in 1912.
It then went on to supply prominent names such as The Dorchester Hotel in London, Raffles of Singapore and, in 1999, provided the finest linen for the penthouse suite of the Burj Al Arab in Dubai. Only last year, the William Liddell name became significant in and around Belfast once again after a research project at the University of Ulster uncovered a series of glass plates from the old mill in Donaghcloney; digitising them and then creating a series of roadshows and books around the once-admired customers of the company.
Vision Support Services, who amalgamated the company into its operations back in 2008, decided to keep the Liddell name alive through transforming it into its flagship luxury linen brand, synonymous with its Irish roots and opulence. The products are now set to become available to some of the finest hotels around the world with Vision also offering the opportunity for hotel owners to sell the very same products, beautifully packaged, within their hotels to guests.
Liddell products have already seen a great uptake in the retail sector and have, only this year, appeared in luxury retailer Fenwick’s, an independent chain of department stores across the UK, for consumers to buy. Some of the products include the goose feather 230 duvet.
This stunning duvet is a 400- thread count duvet which is meticulously crafted from 90 per cent goose down and is 230gsm ensuring a sumptuously soft feel and an indulgent sleeping experience. The distinctive collection of new duvets and pillows means that every product in the range will be defined by only natural or interblend fillings, will suit a truly luxury environment whilst the bed linen will include bedding above 300- thread count and will encourage bespoke options. Included in the new collection also is a Liddell L1030 luxury fill mattress topper.
The best enhancer in the entire range gives the ultimate in comfort; with a five inch wall, great depth and a downproof cover. Each enhancer in the new collection will be crafted using a box construction only and will be above 1,000gsm in weight. The mattress toppers and enhancers in the Liddell collection will offer a new dimension of luxury and comfort, adding an extra layer of protection and softness to any guest bedroom.
From plush, sumptuous and stylish Terry towels to luxurious bathrobes, Liddell products are made from the finest, the most absorbent and the most ecologically sound cotton defined by gsm of 550 and above.
Perfectly suited to commercial laundering, they provide the ultimate in superior performance and can be adapted to include a hotel colour, design or logo. The brand new Liddell L650 collection of bath towels has been designed exclusively with fivestar luxury in mind. The range has a distinctive and contemporary design with twin stitched side seams, with a 650 gsm weight. Created using 100 per cent Turkish cotton, the range is quick drying and durable ensuring it’s a range of bath towels created to last. The range of Liddell bathrobes will be defined by the premium quality on offer and includes the L420 bathrobe.
The most luxurious in the range; the bathrobe benefits from a comfortable sleeved design and intricate silver piping to give a sophisticated and elegant look. With an outstanding level of absorbency, the Liddell L420 bathrobe is crafted using the finest 420gsm, 100 per cent cotton terry towelling and a smooth, velour exterior and has been favoured by celebrities.
The discreet slip pockets and shawl collar makes it an ideal unisex option. The Liddell collection has now been relaunched and is available immediately.
