‘It just works’: How Refillution from ADA Cosmetics streamlined hotel housekeeping At the Best Western…

ADA Cosmetics showcase Refillution
ADA Cosmetics presented a major step forward in hotel bathroom operations at this year’s Independent Hotel Show Amsterdam: ADA Cosmetics Refillution, the world’s only fully automated refill system for hotel cosmetics.
The event brought together more than 3,500 professionals from the luxury and boutique hotel sector. As the official Cosmetics Partner, ADA Cosmetics showcased solutions that combine operational efficiency, uncompromising hygiene, and measurable sustainability impact.
Refillution is a patented system based on medical-grade refilling technology. It refills dispensers within seconds, eliminates manual handling, and ensures consistently hygienic operation.
“Hotels are under increasing pressure to improve efficiency while meeting higher hygiene and sustainability standards,” says Gerd von Podewils, CMO at ADA Cosmetics. “The Refillution addresses all three – reducing plastic waste by up to 95 per cent while simplifying daily operations.”
By eliminating the need for manual refills and significantly reducing plastic use, the system supports a circular approach to hotel bathroom management. It is fully compatible with ADA Cosmetics’ dispenser solutions, including SmartCare, recognised for its hygiene and sustainability performance.
ADA Cosmetics also presented a selection of global luxury brands, like Penhaligon’s, Yon-Ka, Lalique, Amouage, Asprey, and Chopard. Each concept combines brand-specific formulations with dispensers that are durable, hygienic, and easy to use. ADA own brand FairCosmEthics remains the only Fairtrade-certified hotel amenities line worldwide, supporting small-scale producers by sourcing ingredients responsibly.
The group’s commitment to sustainable hospitality solutions has seen recertification of its entire product portfolio at Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Silver – now under the significantly more demanding Version 4.0 standard. To achieve Full Scope Silver status, the company underwent a rigorous, science-based assessment across five key categories: material health, product circularity, clean air and climate protection, water and soil stewardship, and social fairness. In addition, ADA Cosmetics’ certified products are recognised by The Green Key, one of the most widely established sustainability labels in the global hospitality industry.
